Vlychos Bridge ◊ VlychosArchitecture & Mansions / See & Do / Sights
The Vlychos bridge spans a gully through which rain water flows from the mountains into the sea in winter.
The vaulted stone structure stands about 8 meters high. The date of its first construction is unknown, but having fallen into disrepair, it has been renovated and reinforced in recent years. According to Hydra historian A. Manikis, the historian of Hydra, the bridge was built around 1825 to deter enemy invasion (see EnterHydra.gr).
