Painter & Sculptor Michael Lawrence

Best known for his whimsical paintings and bronze sculptures, Michael Lawrence has lived, worked, and exhibited on Hydra since 1992. His work reflects is numerous influences, including, among others, the writings of Lewis Carroll, James Joyce, and Lawrence Durrell, as well as his childhood in Rome and his passion for the cinema (he is the son of actor Marc Lawrence).
