Nestled into the hill above the east point of Hydra Harbor, this beautifully decorated converted windmill with a wrap-around terrace and private pool provides among the most stunning panoramic sea and inland views on the island—well worth the ten minute walk up from the port. Thick walls, small windows, and stone floors keep the interior deliciously cool, while sun drenched terraces provide gorgeous sunset views. The garden’s mature pines and shrubs give welcome daytime shade.
The living room and well-equipped kitchen (four-ring stove, freezer, fridge, oven) are on the ground floor, above which two bedrooms, both with en suite bathrooms, comfortably sleep four in one double and two twin beds. A phone is available for incoming and local calls only. Free wireless Internet is provided.
Children are welcome, but parents are responsible for their safety, especially around the pool. Not suitable for families with very young children, as the drop from the wall surrounding the terrace is quite steep, or for people with mobility issues because of the climb unless they’re used to walking.
No pets.
Conditions: A 30 percent deposit is required to hold the booking, with the balance due eight weeks before arrival. Check out by 10:00 a.m.; check in after 15:00 p.m.
