Hydra's small hospital is available for residents and visitors in case of illness or emergency. The facilities are fully adequate for dealing with basic illnesses and injuries; if the doctors and nurses on staff determine that a patient's needs require more advanced attention, they will make arrangements for transportation to a hospital on the mainland, generally in Athens, by hydrofoil or helicopter, if the case is urgent.
The hospital is located near the Althexis Pet Shop in Hydra's main square, just down from the Rafalias Pharmacy.
