Dining on Hydra

Hydra provides a wealth of different dining experiences, from the casual to the elegant. The cafes along the harbor typically offer everything from salads and sandwiches to souvlaki to pizza to full-blown taverna-style meals, in addition to providing front-row seats for Hydra’s primary source of entertainment: people watching. For a quieter meal, tavernas and restaurants, ranging from the traditional to the cosmopolitan, tucked into Hydra’s narrow back streets provide privacy and old-world island charm.

Nightlife on Hydra

During the spring to early fall, the cafes lining the port are packed in the evenings with summer revelers, and some stay open until the last customer has capitulated. There are also a several bars heading toward the back of town and along the coast road heading toward Kamini.
