Kiaffa Cottage | 1BR house to rent | Lower Kiaffa

A cozy bohemian Hydra getaway

Highlights: newly renovated, traditional, stone floors, beam ceiling, thick walls, rooftop terrace, spectacular sunrise and sunset sea views spanning both Hydra and Kamini harbors, close to grocery store

A beautifully renovated (2010) townhouse above Hydra Town. With a new kitchen and bathroom upstairs, you can treat the two floors like two apartments with their own private entrances. Upstairs a 1-bedroom apartment and downstairs a large studio. Perfect for couples, families, and small groups of friends wanting to holiday together but retain a that sense of privacy. Either floor can access the courtyard and roof terrace. You can dine al fresco or simply watch the sunsets over the harbor, with an ouzo or a lovely Greek wine.

The house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood on a cobblestone corner, and all it takes to get to the port or the beach is a lazy 10 minutes. What’s unique with this house is that both floors feel like two totally different spaces. Each with its own charm and appeal. The top floor is light, bright and airy. White ceilings, white walls, beautifully and simply decorated. Downstairs is rustic, earthy with it’s thick walls, a fireplace, stone tiles. You get the feeling you’ve stepped back in time. The total cost of the whole house is €700 to €980/week.

Additional information

Services: Guests will be met at the port by the villa’s housekeeper, an Hydra resident who will introduce you to the house and share with you the sights and secrets of Hydra. Donkey transport of luggage to the house can be arranged in advance. Although you will have complete privacy during your stay, the housekeeper will be only a phone call away to help you. You will also find a folder in the house full of helpful information. Guests will find tea, coffee, chilled bottled water, and cold beer to help them unwind from the journey to Hydra. After the second week, a cleaner will come in once a week to clean the house and change the sheets and towels. If you should require a cleaner in at any other time, that can be arranged at an additional cost.

Maximum number of guests is 3 people.

Note

As a general policy, it is not advisable to come with small children (under age seven) unless they will be very carefully looked after. Parents are responsible for their safety, especially around the roof terrace, as the drop from the wall surrounding the terrace is quite steep. Similarly, people with mobility issues will not find the house suitable because of the climb, unless they’re used to walking.
