Agios Ionnikas

The chapel (and hermitage) Agios Ioannikios (1860) is located in the east of Hydra and on the south side of the Cape of Zourva. The soil is rocky and the incline steep, with sharp rocks, making up a wild, natural beauty with panoramic views of the Myrtoan Sea. According to historical sources, it was founded by St. Makarios Notaras.

The feast of Agios Ioannikios
The church today is cared for and maintained by pious Hydra pilgrims and sydromites, who celebrate the memory of St. Ioannikios on his November 4 feast day with Vespers and Divine Liturgy.
