View of Hydra Port from the veranda
Highlights: Just 50 steps up from Hydra Harbor, gorgeous sea views overlooking the port, close to shops, cafes, and restaurants, private veranda
Occupying the first floor of a traditional captain’s mansion owned by a prominent member of Parliament ini the 1700s, Villa Marigo is located just 50 steps above the back western corner of Hydra’s harbor, with spectacular views of the bustling port below and out to the Saronic beyond. Close to shops and restaurants, and full of old-world Greek charm and hospitality, this Hydriot home is furnished with many antiques and objets d’art, giving it a warm, cozy ambiance.
The house consists of a large, open-plan dining and lounge area with an open fireplace; 2 double bedrooms (one with a queen-sized bed, the other with two twins); a fully equipped modern kitchen with dishwasher and all the necessary appliances, dinnerware, and cutlery for cooking at home on evenings in; an updated bathroom with shower and full tub; a cupboard fully stocked with clean bed linens and bath towels; a large walk-in storage closet for suitcases and sporting equipment. A washing machine in the kitchen is available for use.
A veranda off the lounge area provides spectacular harbor and sea views, and a table seats six comfortably for al fresco dining!
Thick stone walls keep the house cool in summer and warm colder weather; the working fireplace also adds coziness in the spring and autumn months.
