Situated up a quiet little lane, Garden Spitaki is an easy three-minute walk from Hydra Port, up a single gentle flight of steps. Tucked away in a private walled garden, it’s a charming, traditional Hydriot island house, quirky and full of character. It is an ideal holiday retreat for those seeking simplicity, privacy & quiet - and not wanting a long or steep walk from the Port.

The accommodation is well laid out over three levels and provides lots of living space for occupants. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are on the garden level, and the bedrooms are all upstairs on two levels. There are two shower rooms (one en suite to the master bedroom, the other on the same floor as the two twin bedrooms), both refitted in 2010.

The cottage is built into a steep hillside, and the outside areas are among its best features. Off the sitting room, a shaded walled garden, with old olive and pomegranate trees and a large palm, provides access to a covered dining area perfect for al fresco dining. There is an outdoor shower. Off the master bedroom on the top floor is a large roof terrace with lovely far-reaching views over the town to the mountains in the distance. This is sun-drenched for most of the day and has two loungers for sun worshipers, plus a shaded seating area.

“Garden Spitaki” is a private holiday home used mainly by its owners. In 2012 it is only available during the months of August, September and October.

Booking conditions

Children are welcome, but please note: extra care must be taken with young children due to stairs, high terrace walls, pool area, etc.
A baby’s travel cot and high chair are available on request.
